Here an episode of the Mighty Heroes
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

It could had been interesting to see Cleft and Wonder Gal teaming with the Mighty Heroes and Mighty Mouse but unfortunately Viacom don't own the rights to James Hound, Mighty Mouse and the Mighty Heroes anymore.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

aaah storyboards... theyre like candy to me. you should totally post more
congrats!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

I don't know but you got a point there cozmorocks12. Perhaps it the calm before the storm. And to comfort you and to cheer you up, here a couples of FOP sketches I did http://stephdumas.deviantar... (I like also the anime Lupin The Third, maybe I should do one day, a FOP-Lupin III sketch crossover ;-))

a Valentine fanart of my favorite Nicktoons
http://stephdumas.deviantar...

and if the idea of teaming Vicky and Norm didn't work, well we could imagine a team of Norm and Remy Buxenplenty, I imagined the following fictionnal FOP episode title card
http://stephdumas.deviantar...

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Hello? (Tad spams like Crocker when he said "FAIRY GODPARENTS!"). Maybe one day, I should do a fanart showing Tad in this situation although I did a similar sketch but in a different setting http://stephdumas.deviantar...

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

From one episode, Tootie DOES end up with Timmy. Married, with children. Nice to have another animation historian with us, Stephane.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

you have some interesting point cozmorocks12. I mentionned very often to imagine a situation where Tootie check elsewhere if the grass is more greener elsewhere, another guy like Chester/AJ/Sanjay/Elmer or even Remy Buxenplenty. Someone on the IMDB board said the "underdog" always wins thinking then Tootie could be a sort of "underdog". If Timmy ends with Tootie, it's a double-edge knife or a sort of poisonned gift. Sure some said then Tootie is a underdog with the following moral then "you can't have everything in your life" or on a more down to earth tone "you can't beat the system" but Vicky will became Timmy's sister-in-law. I can imagine the following situation with Vicky shouting "Hi my dear twerpt-in-law", give me the money for shopping!". Then what about Chester who seems to be the overshawdowed underdog or forgotten underdog. can imagine years later, Chester menaged to be a self-made man while Tad and Chad became ruined ended living in the same trailer than Chester and his dad once lived but that's another story.

Also, I like to see Ms Sunshine back knowing how and why she became a fairy hunter and I imagine an title card for a hopefully future FOP episode "Icky Norm": where Timmy face a big threat, the teaming of Vicky with Norm the Genie. (Now I cross my fingers hoping then Norm McDonald will be available to provide the voice of Norm again). If it's not possible to team Vicky and Norm how about a teaming of Norm with Remy Buxenplenty?

Maybe we could explore other ways like a spin-off series featuring the Crimson Chin, Chester (although he had 2 episodes who focused on him like "The Big Scoop" with AJ and "Fairy Idol") or Norm the Genie although there still the possibility to do a spin-off titled "FOP: next-gen" with Tommy and Tammy from Channel Chasers, but the little inconvienent will be a retcon of Channel Chasers since Poof wasn't there at the writing of this episode unless we find some subtle ways to include him like having Blonda or Norm babysitting Poof).

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Eric you should tell FOP this is the best episode since it focuses on Poof, not formulaic approach type of episode, and nice Cosmo Wanda moments and no "nag" "idiot" "cosmo's a baby" jokes, not too much characters yelling out their lines and everyone was realistic, and not acting crazy, overly evil, overly popular or over the top like Trixie acting too popular, Tootie acting too OCD towards Timmy , and Vicky acting evil, she's just an abusive babysitter who wants others to do their homework, not trying to take over the world. Maybe Wanda and Cosmo should get a divorce in a TV movie! Maybe Ms. Sunshine comes back and takes Cosmo, and he has to apologize to Wanda. Where's Wanda's mother, and Cosmo's dad? Maybe Vicky should show some humanim for once. Maybe Timmy should get another magic muffin! Please tell him this! At least have FOP finish with one of these episodes. We still get no response from Butch and we are still worried!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

I also think then the Rocky & Bullwinkle segment "Dudley Do-Right" http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... is more closer in a way to Get Smart, Max was Dudley Do-Right, 99 as Nell, Seigfried was Snidely Whiplash and Chief was Inspector Fenwick ;-) and Get Smart gived some inspiration to others like Cool McCool, a vintage cartoon who spoof James Bond but it was more closer to Get Smart then James Bond http://www.youtube.com/watc... as well as a TerryToons cartoon titled "James Hound"

Back to Hanna-Barbara and the Xerox machine, Filmation also used the Xerox machine very often when we check some cartoons like the Archie show, Groovies Goolies, Fat Albert and the 1980 Lone Ranger cartoon.

By the way, I did a Trixie & Timmy sketch inspired from a promo pic of Get Smart http://stephdumas.deviantar... I can imagine the following Timmy would be Max (agent 86), Trixie would be agent 99, Crocker would be Siegfried, Francis as Sharker, Remy Buxenplenty as the Craw (unless they switches places Buxenplenty as Sharker and Francis as the Craw), Vicky, Tad and Chad as various KAOS agents, Chester as Agent 13, Jorgen as the Chief Cosmo as Hymie the robot (note then Cosmo could perform the Chief assistant Larrabie unless we let the job to Jorgen's assistant Binky) Now the trouble is which role Wanda might perform?

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Well it's not "info" as much as observation, loosely interpreted to make the point. Hanna Barbera did make extensive use of the xerox machine, and it showed. Someone who's been in animation a long time and knows the history might well come along and fill in the details here. But by the early 60s when Flintstones were in production, "full" animation had become too expensive for what the market was willing to pay. Offshore animation houses as heavily used today hadn't yet sprung up to speak of. One exception was Bullwinkle, which was offshored to South America, but was VERY sparsely animated. It's almost like the schlocky artwork was part of the joke, and the writing carried the show. In fact, Bullwinkle was the only cartoon which was remade as a successful live-action series. What series? Get Smart. Two Bullwinkle writers, Chris Hayward and Lloyd Turner, worked on Get Smart. Max was Bullwinkle, 99 was Rocky, Seigfried was Boris.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

I didn't know that info about the Flintstones but I knew then the 1967-70 Spider-man as well as Rocket Robin Hood often recycled the frames and backgrounds. Ralph Bakshi used the recycling to the extreme including the plotlines, like season 3 episode "Conner's reptiles" http://www.youtube.com/watc... who recycled some frames, cels.... from the season 1 episode "Where crawls the Lizard" http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Speaking of storyboards, School's Out is on right now and I was just thinking that the storyboard for that 4-episode equivalent had to involve more artwork than half a season of Flintstones individual cels. There's a new scene roughly every 45 frames! Whereas, no offense, Flintstones reused the same 45 frames for what, 5 years? Not to mention the same 5 sound effects.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Maybe part of the upcoming Wishology speciaL!!!! or maybe something from season 7

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Fairly Odd-Blog | Congratulations, Butch

Enh, running water.
