It was great fun creating a score for Dan Danger. Butch Hartman and his writers put so many layers into each character (like Dan Danger) and then placed that wacky character into crazy situations. I really just played the music campy but straight. I thought of Elvis as a great counterpoint to Dan's over-the-top persona. I used vintage guitars to get a Rock-A-Billy feel. Of course when Dad Danger proves to be a coward (even fears Butterflies) I pull out a sugar plumb Fairy bag with orchestra bells and strings. An obvious accompaniment. When each episode reaches it's grand climax and Dan is cornered into saving the day, I mixed in some action orchestral score with the Elvis Rock-a-Billy. What a perfectly fun way to play and support the humor of these scenes. I still get a laugh when I see it. Very cool and totally Butch Hartman. Ron Jones, Composer, Dan Danger
