Frederator Studios Blogs | Fanboy and Chum Chum | The Office of Dr Acula
Claudia, here, Jaime Diaz' daughter. I would like to thank you for honoring my dad. He was a good and very talented man. He was ALWAYS drawing, imagining, thinking up new stories... Sometimes he would ask me to move a certain way to see in how many frames I did it. Then, concentrated and focused as usual he would get back to his work to draw or write the result of his "study". He LOVED to work. He inhaled and exhaled cartoons. When I was little I would wake up on some mornings with a mustache and cartoons on my face! In the car, he would be deep in thought thinking of his beloved creations: his "other" sons and daughters as he would affectionately say.
I think that my dad personality best resembles one of his own characters, Mr. Chaps: a man-child. I believe that my dad was a child at heart that would "play" with his cartoons. He had fun working. Of course, there were deadlines and pressure to get things done. He did get things done and he had lots of fun doing them. I miss dad and I know his talent is a real loss to the world of cartoons. But more than missing his talent, I miss him. Please keep dad in your prayers. Thank you.
