Since Alex was unwilling to create new art (he hung up on me in disgust), I resorted to going through the studio's archives for art to reproduce. Imagine - any employee could sign out folders of original Alex Toth artwork - Space Ghost model sheets, Jonny Quest designs, whatever. We wound up producing an L.E. of the first Space Ghost model sheet (Alex hung up on me again when I asked if he'd be interested in signing them - I'm sure he was pleased when Messrs Hanna and Barbera gladly gave the edition their autographs). When it was announced the studio was being sold to WB, much of that original art disappeared from the archives. And, no, I have none of it. </p>Eric HomanMon, 22 Sep 2008 00:18:52 -0000
