I still think it sounds better tho ;)

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

Because it's the creator's name. The reason Pen Ward gave is that he wouldn't want his name put on the seat of someone's pants, but it's probably more about wanting to give the main character a more creative name.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

I liked the name Pen better, why did they change it?

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

If that category thing wasn't clear enough, I meant that the letter was the shape's name, like you would say "the character makes an A mouth," just because that's the name of the mouth shape, not because that's the sound it refers to. Sorry, I've just always been very curious about the mechanics of mouth charts.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

I don't think I've seen a mouth chart for any show that's ever made sense to me. XP Is the idea that the letters just signify what order they would go in if, say, characters were mumbling and there was no clear way for the animators to know which letters are being said? Like the letters are just categorizing their position rather than identifying which letter's sound makes that mouth shape? The first six positions look like they're intended to flow smoothly without really matching their letters.

I love these new mouth shapes, the loss of that weird "O" shape from the original short, and how much you guys are keeping us updating! Thanks a lot!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

Well, pic A doesn't really look like he's saying "A" either, does it? Nor does pic H look like an "H" to me; more like an "L". Come to that, I don't think any of the pics look like they're pronouncing the letter under it, except in the case of "TH". Weird!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

I was about to ask the same thing when I took a closer look at it.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Adventure Time | Finn & Jake Mouth Charts

Awesome!
